one of the coolest concerts i’ve been to was the modest mouse show at the house of blues in chicago about 6 years ago (thus the picture… house of blues is at the bottom of this building). my daughter has been a modest mouse fan since she was 3. now 13, she’s old enough to go to the concert with me next wednesday. she found out i got her tickets tonight and she was blown away. the show is at marquee here in phoenix – a great place to see your first show. i believe tickets are still on sale if you want to meet us there. it’s the second tour since the new album so hopefully they’ll play some of the older tracks this time around. mimicking birds (who i’ve only found out out about because of the show) is opening for them and i’m really digging the “album”. lyrically, he reminds me of early modest mouse albums.
here are some older modest mouse tracks i’d love to here…
Dramamine (This is a Long Drive… 1996)

and for those keeping track, the picture above is of chicago’s marina city. i took this summer ’08. it’s using one of the new actions/presets we’re developing. and as always, click the pic to download full size.
i’m up late again. getting projects finished and trying to stay up to date with design and sales. the daniel vosovic book ‘fashion inside out’ is one of the best designed books i’ve seen in a long time… tons of pictures and interviews – very much enjoyed the insight into his creative process.
then we have my fan. it just looked really cool so bam… there it is.
and to not ignore the left side of my brain we have selling the invisible by harry beckwith. one can never learn enough about business, service and the human element. i saw that hollye has a well read copy and i know that angela picked herself up a copy a few weeks ago.
okay, g’night – oh yeah… hey shannon, let’s go get coffee this week – lux?
love to all. this is jami’s arrangement courtesy of camelback flowershop. i decided to mix it up this year. the colors are so deep and so vibrant and most importantly… it not a typical arrangement. she loves them – thanks teresa.

…but it’s almost time to come home. this image is from the other afternoon and as you can see, it’s enhanced in lightroom and uses a bokeh texture. i’ve said it before but it’s true, these effects are on their way to you all. you’re going to love them.
*oh yeah, you can download this as a full size JPG – just click the pic
i’ve taken the set of photoshop actions i’ve created (i will be releasing them next year) and blended them together in various ways to make new looks. i shot ‘the twins’ a week ago and am really happy with how everything came together.
