we have begun production on phase 2 of camelback flowershops branding evolution. in the development of her site last year, we came up with the idea of blending fashion and french styles into a “tactile” design that celebrate how teresa’s floral arrangements bring beauty into life. this year, our focus is on expanding that thought from the site into the store. over the next few months we will be working on upgrading the site to blogplusweb, designing all new print & in-store materials, a weekly inspiration document (shown above) for the staff and a quarterly PDF magazine/newsletter for the public. we will also be working on a design to wrap her delivery van and reworking the interior & exterior of the shop. so keep your eye out!

last week i was working on some photoshop actions that will soon be making their way to market. this post shows the original photo and detailed in the following 4 posts are 4 of the actions that will be included in an ultimately larger bundle. i would love to get a feel for the actions you guys like so…

my dear friend, hollye of hollye schumacher photography provided the original, beautiful image (as seen above) of our good friends christi & matt at their engagement session!

this version turns blacks to blue playing with greens. (is this your favorite?)

i do a few print/branding projects from time-to-time and this ad is complete (and the site is almost done) for the wedding & event network’s (who’s site is also almost done) soleil: the arizona wedding event. you can see it in the july/august issue of the wedding chronicle (yes, i’m working on their site as well). :) soleil is the only upscale bridal show in scottsdale where brides can meet the members of the wedding and event network. the show is sept 25th at the scottsdale center for the arts.

there are just so many books - i’m quite excited about these three right now. for the love of light: a tribute to the art of Polaroid is a limited edition (i have #289 of 500) beautiful collection of polaroid photography. this is an absolute must have. get a copy before they sell out! i’ve heard a lot about adrian shaughnessy’s book, How to be a graphic designer, without losing your soul. i decided to get this one after reading the table of contents - it covers all designers levels from employee’s to entrepreneurs. now the last book, stefan sagmeister’s Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far. the title says it all. this flawless presentation catalogues what sagmeister has learned over the past 5 years as a successful artist/designer.

Sarah Cornwell’s Sb Collections has launched! I talked about this site back in early June (production teasers). We launched her site last week. I enjoyed working with such oversized and lush photos (thanks Hollye). I also had a lot of fun working with blended tones, oversize type and magazine-styled layouts. Sarah makes beautiful custom jewelry and I’m so happy for her success!

having the opportunity to do what I love (business + strategy + design) and to work with these clients has been a life (and career) changing experience.

i have had the pleasure to help with one of their most valued assets - their businesses! together we have taken their web sites far beyond what they even thought was possible. to me, all of this speaks volumes especially since so many of my accounts are referrals.

many of these people have gone from great clients to dear friends. not only do i frequently dine & entertain with them, play with their kids, take vacations with them and i have even been to a few of their weddings!
